Karolis Šarkus's latest work, XIDEA, is an album born from fragments: unfinished sketches, notes, and voice recordings that had long awaited their moment. The title symbolizes the space between inspiration and clarity – 'X' marks the unknown and the point of silence before sound, while 'idea' signifies the genesis of a feeling. The album clearly showcases Karolis's compositional thinking: modern jazz is blended with influences from other genres here – from the atmospheric quality of film music to the energy of rock, and both a clear melodic line and expressive solos are important in the compositions. XIDEA is a personal and open musical narrative where fragmented ideas transform into cohesive, lively, and emotionally intense music.
